Event date:
Wednesday, June 11, 2014 to Friday, June 13, 2014

What happened at the Workshop?

Project promoters submitted their practices/projects previously online. These practices/projects were presented in flash presentations (5 min each) at the Fairground sessions and then discussed in a more intimate and interactive setting during the thematic working group sessions. The aim of the working groups was to elaborate on the potentials and practical details of the identified Fairground synergies and develop future collaborations.

Registered participants received access to the online shared work area of the "Inspiring teaching practices and competence development for ubiquitous learning" working group. All conference participants received an A4 flyer in their conference package (available on the Digiskills portal). The conference committee awarded as Best Research Paper winner an interesting and  Teaching Pracitce relevant  research paper onhow to build our community:
Corrado Petrucco, University of Padua, Italy: Digital Storytelling as a Reflective Practice Tool in a Community of Professionals

On the second day of the Digiskills themed workshop, we had a 90 minutes intensive workshop session with highly interesting discussions on discussing future ways of collaboration with existing practices. Participants were mostly interested in further education and adult learning practices, but applications and tools for all levels of education were also discussed. The 90 minutes flew by and participants didn't want to stop talking, so we invited them for the next day morning session to continue talks and offered them to record a short video explanation of their practices.

Conclusions and results of dialogues and intensive workshop discussions

Almost all participants suggested that the best way of sharing practices related to learning is: video. In order to respond to this need immediately, organisers of the session booked a professional photographer for the next day to record some of the practices. Video explanation of 3 most interesting practices are now in the cutting room and will be published soon.

Projects and practices presented during the Fairground sessions are available in the the Book of Abstracts:

Synergy Working Groups D4

 Session G5: Synergy Working Groups

The sessions kick off with the Fairgrounds. During the fairgrounds all the practice/project promoters can briefly (5 min) introduce their practices and then talk and interact with each other at will. The Fairgrounds serve to discover basic points of synergies among the projects and practices. To maximise the potential for effective collaboration the “Synergy Fairground” sessions aim to provide a platform for short presentations to allow the conference audience to familiarise themselves with the participating initiatives

Presented projects in this session:
DigiSkills, TRANSIt, UDLnet , HANDSON, PEEP, MEDEAnet, ISE, LACE, EMMA, LIBE, eLene2learn, POERUP, ODS, STAY IN, ARMAZEG, HoTEL, eMundus, VISIR, JAMTODAY, CAMELOT, SoMeCat, GRASS and iPro

Building on the foundations of the short presentations delivered in the "Synergy Fairground" sessions (on Wednesday the 11th of June), 4 thematic Working Groups will allow the promoters of the introduced projects as well as non-presenting members of the audience to discuss overlaps and synergies between the represented initiatives and develop new ideas for future collaboration (whether that is the organization of a joint event, reciprocal piloting/peer review, community sustainability or a new partnership for a future project).

This session includes:

Synergy Working Group 1-TT (Digiskills): Inspiring teaching practices and competence development for ubiquitous learning
The Synergy Working Group 1-TT (Digiskills): "Inspiring teaching practices and competence development for ubiquitous learning" will continue its collaborative work in an organised and moderated fashion while the other 3 Working Groups (2-Care, 3-VET and 4-Bsn) and/or other smaller partnerships that have been formed during the previous days will be provided with the space and facilities to carry on their consultations informally.
